Congratulations to our 2007 XC Champs! After a strong season, the teams achieved spectacular performances in the NCS Championships: UHS Boys taking #1 and the Girls 3rd place. Both varsity teams advanced to the State Championship in Fresno Saturday, November 24th.
(NEWS FLASH: UHS Boys Varsity team proudly took home 2nd place at States tying their best finish in UHS history. The UHS Girls finished in 6th place against one of the toughest fields ever in Division 5.)

The UHS boy's soccer team completed the year with a 21-6-2 record and a BCL West Championship title. In the NCS tournament, the team defeated International High School 2-0 in the opening round, St. Helena High School 3-1 in the quarterfinals and Branson 2-1(3-2)pks in the semifinal before losing to a highly motivated and well organized MA squad in the final.

The UHS Red Devils ended the regular season tied for first with an 11-1 league record. As the one seed for the BCL-West championships, the team earned a bye to begin bracket play in the semis. Unfortunately, they lost a heartbreaker to Convent. It may have been an ominous sign for the evening when earlier in the preceding match, MA as the favored two seed lost to Urban.

Nine seniors played their last field hockey games for UHS, including; Co-captains Ale V-J, Rachel S and Allyson S; Allegra C-C, Mollie C, Kristine M, Brennan V, Alex H and Laura W. The players would like to thank coaches Stacey S and Mary Beth N for making their senior season memorable.

Freshman Grace made it into the semi-finals of the Individual Singles BAC tournament, thereby attaining All-League honors. Seniors Isabelle and Clare, won the doubles portion of the tournament, becoming 1st team All-League, and earning the privilege of representing the BAC in the NCS tournament. Anna also won All-League honors.

The team finished up their season with a solid 6-6 record in league play and a 9-10 record overall. Their growth as a team and skill development as individuals over the course of the season was phenomenal. Congratulations to the team for a great season, and thanks to coaches Jenny and Sarah for their time and talents with this young team.
