Here’s the Preamble to the Constitution, which lays out why the document was written in the first place:
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
How well did each party’s activities live up to the Preamble’s ideals? How much did they live up to the party’s own ideals? Give each item a grade in each area, explain it, average them, and figure out each party’s governing GPA.
